How and Why I Developed the Program
After more than 30 years helping people one-to-one with great success, I realised that many people found it difficult to free up the time and money to come to individual sessions. I discovered that some had invested thousands of dollars in multiple attempts to quit.
I needed to create something new,
something accessible, something affordable,
something effective, as effective as one-to-one sessions.
Whilst I was successful one-to-one, I could only help one person at a time. Starting over 10 years ago, I explored new ideas and technologies including: Skype, email, online surveys, phone interviews, videos, CDs, mp3 downloads, sms (text) messaging, webinars, hangouts, apps, accountability partners and peer support.
I figured out what worked and created a program that could be tailored to address the key issues faced by smokers. It was incredible. The STOP SMOKE NOW Supported Program (originally called STOP QUIT NOW) worked better than one-to-one sessions; better than one grueling 3 or 4 hour session; better than groups; better than CDs or mp3 files or Apps alone. Better, faster and easier for you to realise your goal of being smoke free forever.
The key to success was personalising the program.
Every person is different. Your reasons are your reasons, your goals are your goals. That’s what makes the difference. Although there is a program to step through, based on my 30 years experience, it has to be personalised to be successful.
Every person has their own unique situation and set of reasons for wanting to be smoke free. Standard programs or CDs or mp3s or Apps are designed for a standard client, not for you. Providing a personalised program supports you and your unique situation. In order to monitor the progress of all participants, I limited the number in the program at any time.

Here’s How It Works
When you commence the STOP SMOKE NOW Supported Online Program, you receive a welcome email and SMS text message with a link to a simple and powerful 15 minute Relaxation Session [RELAX 15]. Ideally you can find the time to use it every day. It doesn’t matter when you schedule your relaxation time, just make sure you commit to the habit.
Setting aside time each day is an essential part of the preparation and the program.
I ask you to complete an online survey Prepare To Quit. The reason you receive the Relaxation Session as soon as you join the program, before your first Personal Consultation, is that it gives you the opportunity to get ready while you are completing the Prepare To Quit Online Survey. That Relaxation Session also forms the basis of teaching you a few powerful mental exercises during our sessions.
After I receive your survey results, about a week after you join the program, you have your first Personal Consultation via TeleHealth. During that session, you learn a few simple exercises and I create and record your first personal session and send it to you. Sometimes I’ll take more time to talk with you and I create the session later that day and send it to you. At our second Personal Consultation via TeleHealth, I create and record your second personal session and discuss a plan for your progress through the program. You will receive a final session link, designed to embed your new successful smoke free lifestyle, so that you remain smoke free forever.
Your Commitment
You commit 20 to 30 minutes each day to listen to a relaxation or guided hypnosis session. You have a couple of other simple psychological techniques to use throughout the day. No one but you knows you are doing them. You receive a motivational text message each day and respond with the number of cigarettes smoked in the previous 24 hours so I can monitor your progress. That’s it, all taking less time each day than smoking a few cigarettes.
