You want someone to QUIT

Someone you know wants to or needs to quit a habit. Maybe they’ve talked to you about quitting. Maybe they haven’t.

And you want to help them. Perhaps you’ve tried before. Even if it didn’t work out, you are still keen to help them. It’s likely you are a friend, family member or their partner.

It is important to maintain that relationship. Be supportive but not at the cost of the relationship.

Using the example of smokers, most attempt to quit many times before being successful, as many as 6 to 30 times according to research studies. The question then becomes how and why they are finally successful. And what you can do to support them.

How To Best Support Your Loved One, Friend or Colleague

After that you will be able to assess whether to recommend this program to your friend. It’s not for everyone. See the post This Is Not For You. Give your friend or loved one the website address and let them know your assessment of the STOP QUIT NOW Programs. You can ask them how you might best help them regarding their quitting the habit. It is their issue, they will want to solve it … or not. It is ultimately up to them. They will respect your understanding and even if it is not the right time to quit, they may well come back for your support later on. They may even reach out about another issue in their life. Why? Because you didn’t tell them, or push them, or judge them.

Why do I make these suggestions? I have a lot of experience with concerned friends and family members contacting me to help their loved one.

I want to acknowledge and thank you for caring about your loved one, friend or colleague. It’s great that they have you backing them, caring about them.
